QuickBooks error 15271 usually occurs while trying to update the software or tables of payroll. There are two messages accompanied by this error are-

• A document cannot be justified due to an incomplete payroll update.
• A record cannot be approved due to an incomplete payroll update.

Causes of QuickBooks Error 15271:

1. If QuickBooks Pro is incompletely installed or your computer or the downloaded software file is corrupted.
2. If the Windows registry gets corrupted as a result of a recent change in QB pro related software.
3. Corruption in Windows file system or program files related to QuickBooks pro due to virus or malware infection.
4. If QuickBooks pro related files get mistakenly or maliciously deleted by another program.

Solutions to Fix QuickBooks Error 15271

Solution 1: Turning off User Account Control (UAC) in your computer

For Windows 7, 8, and 10:

1. First, you go to the Control Panel.
2. If you are using Windows 7 then choose Start and then go to Control Panel.
3. In case you are using Windows 8 or 10, you can type Control Panel in the Start menu & then click on Control Panel.
4. Type UAC in the search box.
5. After that click on “Change user account settings”.
6. Move the slider to never notify in order to turn off UAC.
7. Now click OK. Enter the password or provide confirmation if the admin password or confirmation is required. In order to make changes perform restarting of your computer.
8. Move the slider to when you want to be notified in order to turn on UAC and click OK.

Solution 2: Update QuickBooks Service

1. Click on Help.
2. In order to update QuickBooks  – choose Update QuickBooks → Update Now → mark the box next to Reset Update→ Get Updates.
3. Close and reopen when the “update complete” message appears on your screen.
4. If you receive the message to install the update then click on Install Now.
5. Restart your computer.

Solution 3: Do a clean installation of QB under selective startup mode

1. Press “windows icon key+ R” to open the run application.
2. Type “MSConfig” → OK.
3. Click on Selective Startup under the General tab in the main menu bar and after that Select Load System Services.
4. Go to services → hide all Microsoft services→ Disable all tab → uncheck hide all Microsoft services.
5. To ensure the windows installer is marked as checked verify the service list.
6. If not then mark it check and click OK.
7. Click on Restart Tab in the System Configuration.
8. To uninstall/install/reinstall function of QB once the system is booted.

Alternative Solutions:

1. Fix the registry entries which are associated with this error.
2. Run a full malware scan on your computer.
3. Clean all the system junks that are present on your computer.
4. Get your PC device drivers updated.
5. Update your windows to the latest version.
